Instead of an Enrique Norten-designed public library, a triangular parking lot in Brooklyn’s BAM Cultural District will become a mixed-use facility, developed by Two Trees Management and designed by Norten. The 371,000-square-foot facility will include studios, offices, and performance space for Brooklyn-based arts organizations. It could also include a small branch library. In the deal, another nearby property on Ashland Place,Between Lafayette Avenue And Hanson Place will be transferred to the Brooklyn Academy of Music, which will build administrative offices and a new community theater.
