Hedge funder pays $15M for UES coop

A hedge fund executive paid $15.6 million for an Upper East Side co-operative apartment, according to property records published today.

Andrew Hoine and his wife Jennifer bought the 13-room co-op at 888 Park Avenue from Joseph Luter, the former president and chief executive officer of pork processor Smithfield Foods.

Hoine is a senior vice president at Paulson and Co., a hedge fund company based in New York.

The co-op was listed for $18.5 million in December, according to Curbed.com.
