Part of Brooklyn Bridge Park will open by the end of 2009, including lawns of Pier 1, some entrances and a playground, but the rest is still a question mark. The 1.3-mile strip from Pier 1 to Pier 6 will cost more than $300 million, double the original cost, but so far there is only $225 million allocated by the state and city. The entire project is expected to be finished in 2012.
