Some homebuyers are finding deals on second homes on Long Island and upstate New York. Listing prices are falling while inventory is increasing, and brokers say August is a good month to buy before the fall’s expected sales increase. A recent study shows Long Island’s vacation spots, the Hamptons and North Fork, saw a 9.2 percent median sales decrease compared to last year.
