The city Department of Investigation is questioning a preservationist for allegedly altering the words of a letter from Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer at a Landmarks Preservation Commission meeting. A lawyer for Stringer says Virginia Parkhouse was not authorized to speak on his behalf. He also said there is evidence in court documents that Parkhouse changed some of the words when reading the letter about the possible landmarking of two former stables on the Upper West Side.
