Another big-box retailer for Red Hook?

Developer Joe Sitt has plans to turn the old Revere Sugar Factory site on Beard Street into a national chain store. The vacant site sits next door to IKEA, and down the block from the Fairway supermarket. It’s currently being used as IKEA parking, and BJ’s Wholesale Club is trying to claim the space. The Red Hook Civic Alliance says the neighborhood can’t handle any more traffic.
