Foreign tourists support East End business

Hotels, retail and bed and breakfast owners on Long Island’s East End had a healthy summer business season because of increased foreign tourism. One East Marion bed and breakfast owner said 20 percent of her revenue for the season came from European tourists, double the rate from last year. The North Fork Promotion Council said weekend traffic at bed and breakfasts was high, and the council, representing business groups and more than 500 East End businesses, expects the trend to continue for the next few months.
