Mayor Bloomberg says city can withstand Wall Street losses

At a press conference today, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said that the city can handle the lost revenue from
the collapse of A.I.G. and Lehman Brothers, and that the city will
be able to preserve its quality of life. Bloomberg did not address
what areas of the city’s budget would have to be cut to offset the lost
tax revenue, but assured that the city’s current budget would remain intact.
