12 NY real estate tycoons make billionaire list

New York real estate developers took 12 spots on Forbes’ new list of
the 400 wealthiest Americans. The wealthiest of the 12 is Paul Milstein
of Milstein Properties, who ranked number 68 with $5 billion in wealth.

Richard LeFrak and family landed the number 78 spot with $4.5 billion,
tying with Related Companies founder Steve Ross.

Moving down the real
estate list, Hartz Mountain Industries founder Leonard Stern received
spot 97 with $3.7 billion; Donald Trump secured number 137 with $3
billion; Boston Properties chairman Mort Zuckerman landed number 147
with $2.8 billion; developer and Gristedes owner John Castimatidis made
number 215 with $2.1 billion; Sheldon Solow and Tishman Speyer’s Jerry
Speyer tied for number 227, each with $2 billion; Tamir Sapir was
number 246 with $1.9 billion; developer Leon Charney was 321 with $1.7
billion; and Vornado CEO Steve Roth made number 377 with $1.3 billion. TRD
