Men charged in $40M mortgage scam

Four Florida men have been charged with fraud for using straw buyers
and fake loan applications to apply for $40 million worth of mortgages
on more than 50 properties in New York, Florida and Nevada. The four
men are Peter Affatati of Coral Springs; Anthony Affatati of
Parkland; Anthony Louis Cuomo of Coral Springs; and Brian Schlitz of
Boca Raton, the U.S. attorney’s office announced yesterday.
