Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center has proposed its first New York facility outside of Manhattan, at 557 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. If the $5.1 million project receives state approval, it is expected to compete with Maimonides Medical Center, which is the borough’s largest cancer treatment center. However, the hospital expects to treat about 30 patients a day in Brooklyn, much less than the number of people Maimonides treats.
