Mortgage scammer pleads guilty

Anthony Affatati pleaded guilty to criminal fraud charges
for using straw buyers to apply for $40 million in mortgages in New
York, Florida and Nevada, federal prosecutors said Friday. Affatati,
36, of Parkland, Fla., pleaded guilty to the mortgage scam and to charges related to a
foreign currency trading scam. Three other Florida residents, Peter Affatati, 39, of Coral Springs,
Anthony Louis Cuomo, 30, of Coral Springs and Brian Schlitz, 39, of
Boca Raton were also charged in connection with the case.
