Hedge funder pays whopping $32M for co-op

Hedge fund investor John Griffin bought a 10th-floor cooperative apartment at 1030 Fifth Avenue for $32.25 million.

The purchase by the founder and president of Manhattan-based Blue Ridge Capital, and his wife Amy, closed on December 3, according to city property records published today.

The 13-story building at 84th Street and Central Park has 18 apartments, according to city records.

Griffin, 44, founded the investment firm in 1996.
