Developers dress up lobbies to attract buyers

Developers of new residential buildings are putting artwork in lobbies to differentiate them from other new buildings, and to hopefully attract more buyers. Both the Atelier condo, at West 42nd Street near Twelfth Avenue, and the Caledonia, on West 17th Street and Eleventh Avenue, have lobbies that are also gallery spaces, with rotating exhibitions throughout the year. And at the rental building Tribeca Park, at 400 Chambers Street at North End Avenue, the lobby features paintings by artist Dale Chihuly, which are also for sale.
