Canarsie may get rezoned

City Planning announced plans yesterday to rezone a 250-block area in Canarsie, bound by Foster Avenue to the north, Fresh Creek Basin and East 108th Street to the east, the Belt Parkway and Seaview Avenue to the south and Paerdegat Basin and Paerdegat Avenue North to the west. The rezoning is meant to “protect Canarsie’s low-scale built form,” according to a city press release.
