Lamp designer hones in on housing boom

Lamp designer Gordon Joseph followed the housing boom to Queens in October, opening one of the few home furnishing stores in the Long Island City area at 1207 Jackson Avenue. He sells lamps ranging from $40 to $500. Joseph said that even as the economy and the city’s housing market have slumped, his sales have been better than expected.
