Canali moves to Meatpacking District

Menswear designer Canali has paid $10.6 million for a new showroom space at 415 West 13th Street in the Meatpacking District. The retailer expects to move from 712 Fifth Avenue into the space in a year when its current occupant, the Sperone Westwater Gallery, will move to its new location at 257 Bowery. The gallery is leasing back the space until its Sir Norman Foster-designed building on the Bowery is ready, and Stuart Siegel of Grubb & Ellis, who represented the gallery, said rents could go for over $70 a foot. Siegel said 415 West 13th Street is the only office condominium in the area.
