Openings and closings: Apple to open fourth location, Chickie Pig’s shuttered

Apple has said that it is opening a fourth location but has not yet confirmed the location, which is rumored to be at the corner of 67th Street and Broadway. A Sweet Treats truck has debuted on 55th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues. Hawaiian Tropic Zone in Midtown has reopened after closing for renovations. The Ace Hotel is up and running at the corner of Broadway and 29th Street. Foto Care, a company that sells and rents photo equipment, has moved to street-level spaces at 41 and 43 West 22nd Street, between Fifth and Sixth avenues. Baddies at 121 West 10th Street is slated to officially open tomorrow, a year after announcing its original grand opening. Signs are now up at the long-awaited macaroni and cheese spot MacBar at 54 Prince Street in Soho. A new seafood spot is slated to open at 259 Front Street near the South Street Seaport. In Brooklyn, a Louisiana-style BBQ joint will open at 44 Berry Street in Williamsburg.  Bar Tini in Park Slope is set to open soon at 1302 Eighth Avenue. Restaurant Sweetwater plans to open a bakery at 150 Wythe Avenue, two blocks away from its Williamsburg location.

Johnney’s Fish and Grill in the World Financial Center has closed. East Village spot Mr. Jones at 243 East 14th Street has called it quits after less than a year in business. Lower East Side pizzeria Chickie Pig’s has shuttered and the space is currently for rent. In Brooklyn, upscale Park Slope restaurant Tempo at 256 Fifth Avenue has closed. Number one Zagat-rated Brooklyn spot Garden Cafe, at 620 Vanderbilt Avenue in Prospect Heights, is shuttering after 25 years of business. Elementi, an Italian restaurant at 140 Seventh Avenue in Park Slope, has filed for bankruptcy. TRD
