Openings and closings: Cure restaurant closing, Vince clothing store opening

Italian restaurant Tonalli has opened at 3628 Broadway between 149th and 150th streets in Harlem. MADCrush, a
pop-up wine bar hosted by the Museum of Arts and Design, will open at 2 Columbus Circle for five weeks. Bhatti Indian Grill has opened at 100 Lexington Avenue between 27th and 28th streets. “Retail space for rent” signs are up at 235 East 14th Street between Third and Second avenues. A new deli will open on Broadway between 97th and 98th streets on the Upper West Side. Jean shop Chip and Pepper at 250 Mulberry Street has shuttered and brokers say something “food-related” will take its place. Clothing store Vince has opened at 16 Prince Street. Abe & Arthur’s is slated to open
by late summer in the former Lotus space at 409 West 14th Street. The
18th- and 19th-floor lounges at the Standard Hotel at 848 Washington
Street is slated to open by September. Despite the label’s bankruptcy,
the Escada Sport store in Soho is slated to open by the end of next year.

Three-month-old restaurant Cure on 7th Street and Avenue A has shuttered. Jeffery Chodorow’s Ono restaurant in the Gansevoort Hotel may close for good when it closes for renovations in September and an unconfirmed club Provocateur may open in the space at 18 Ninth Avenue. Guss Pickles at 87 Orchard Street on the Lower East Side is slated to relocate to Brooklyn due to higher rents. Hudson Street Papers at 14 Orchard Street has closed. Meanwhile, in the Hamptons, pop-up shop T.B.D has opened at 67A Jobs Lane in Southampton. American Apparel has opened a store at 1770 West Main Street in Riverhead.

In Brooklyn, Mexican joint Pequena is slated to open by late August at 601 Vanderbilt Avenue in Prospect Heights. The Cabinet Shop at 305 Seventh Avenue in Park Slope has shuttered. Bakeri has opened in the former Sweetwater space at 150 Wythe Avenue in Williamsburg. Lingerie shop Honey has opened in the former Sleep space on North 6th Street in Williamsburg. A former Blockbuster space at 288 Court Street is expected to become a grocery store. Baby clothing store Egg Baby is slated to open on the corner of Front and Jay streets in Dumbo. TRD
