The Forward, the Jewish newspaper, bought a 25,600-square-foot eighth floor office at 125 Maiden Lane from the Empire State Development Corp. for $11.5 million. The paper is moving from 45 East 33rd Street, which sold to an Israeli hotel developer. Seven floors at 125 Maiden Lane, between Pearl and Water streets, were supposed to become the governor’s new city offices, but former Governor Eliot Spitzer decided not to move in.
