A long-vacated block on Amsterdam Avenue between 92nd and 93rd streets is about to welcome as many as four new businesses. The retail space, which has been empty since a past developer had bought it four years ago, will see a dog daycare center, a barbershop, a 7-Eleven location and, possibly, a Kosher restaurant arrive over the next several months, according to Ross Kaplan, a managing director with Newmark Knight Frank. Developer Kent Swig had bought the retail space, along with the existing apartment buildings that sat atop, in 2005 for $54 million. While Swig had plans to renovate the buildings, he ultimately gave into community opposition and sold the property in June last year to 92nd Street Equities, an Adorama affiliate.
