Openings and closings: Summit Bar opens, Park Luncheonette shutters

Stuffed Artisan Canollis has opened at 176 Stanton Street between Clinton and Attorney streets on the Lower East Side.  Absolute Beginners has opened at 616 East 9th Street between Avenues B and C. Summit Bar has opened in the former Baraza space at 133 Avenue C near 8th Street. Long shuttered village landmark Chumley’s may reopen soon at the same location at 86 Bedford Street.   Former “Top Chef” contestant Manuel Trevino’s restaurant Travertine will open tonight at 19 Kenmare Street in Nolita. Torrisi is opening on Mulberry and Prince streets in Nolita.  Exclusive bar the Boom Boom Room has opened on the 18th floor of the Standard Hotel at 442 West 13th Street between Washington and West streets in the Meatpacking District. Birch Coffee is slated to open in the Gershwin Hotel on 7 East 27th Street on Oct. 24.  Pop-up store Kai D opened today at 75 Orchard Street between Broome and Grand streets and another pop-up, Fifth on Main opens tomorrow at 421 West Broadway between Prince and Spring streets. After closing last Saturday following a Department of Health inspection, Village Yokocho at 8 Stuyvesant Street between 11th and 12th streets will re-open tonight.  After delays, Tipsy Parson will open soon at 156 Ninth Avenue between 19th and 20th streets. Noodle shop O Bao will open in the former Bunchberries space at 222 East 53rd Street. Kolache Mama, a fast food spot specializing in pastries will open at 45 East 45th StreetKatsuhama on 47th Street between Madison and  Fifth avenues has reopened.  Chinese fast food joint Lan Sheng will open at 60 West 39th Street between  Fifth and Sixth avenues. Muddy Waters Cafe has opened at 2185  Seventh Avenue between 129th and 130th streets in Harlem.

Little Italy restaurant Lulu has officially closed at 235 Mulberry Street. Better Burger at 587 Ninth Avenue between 42nd and 43rd streets in Hells Kitchen has shuttered. Sbarro in Rockefeller Center has shuttered. Les Desirs Patisserie at 236  Ninth Avenue near 24th Street will be closing and another location of the Sullivan Street Bakery will take its place.  Italian restaurant Gusto may be pushed out of its location at 60 Greenwich Avenue to make room for building expansion.

In Brooklyn, Park Luncheonette at 836 Lorimer Street in Greenpoint has shuttered.  A new Chinese restaurant is slated to open in the former Tempo space at 256 Fifth Avenue between Carroll Street and Garfield Place in Park Slope. The Vanderbilt restaurant is “opening really soon” at 570 Vanderbilt Avenue between Dean and Bergen streets.  A new Middle Eastern restaurant, Mediterranean Shawarma, has opened at 849 Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint.
