Openings and closings: Bon Chon Chicken opens

Bon Chon Chicken will be opening in the former Zen Palate space at 104 John Street in the Financial District. Organic Indian restaurant Curry Heaven is slated to open at 513 Grand Street on the Lower East Side. Balade is taking the space previously occupied by Christine’s Polish American Restaurant at 208 First Avenue. Mark Bello will be setting up a one-stop pizza shop at 371 Grand Street. Amusement park and nightclub Carnival soft opened last weekend on the roof of Bowlmor Lanes on University Place. Manhattan coffee chain Think Coffee will open another location on Fourth Avenue and 12th Street. STK steakhouse is looking to open in the ground floor of the Gansevoort Park Hotel on Park Avenue South and 29th Street. Downtown Galway Hooker has opened a location at 133 Seventh Avenue South in the West Village.

Jacques Torres is readying to open a Chelsea Market chocolate shop at 75 Ninth Avenue. An outdoor Harvest Market will temporarily open in Madison Square Park from Oct. 9 to Nov. 1. The Boom Boom Room at the Standard Hotel will be renamed QT.
Hill Country will open a fried chicken restaurant on the corner of 25th Street and Broadway. The East Side Social Club is slated to open in mid-November on 51st Street. A new Chilean sandwich place will open on 52nd Street and Second Avenue, while further north, Cafe Boulad will open its doors at 20 East 76th Street after closing temporarily in August.

On the Upper East Side, fragrance store Diptyque plans to open a second Manhattan store at 971 Madison Avenue, Creed is slated to open at 794 Madison Avenue, and Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle will open at 898 Madison later this month. Uptown, a Wafels and Dinges food truck will be coming to the corner of 114th and Broadway. Boutique florist Katrina Parris has opened on Lenox Avenue between 119th and 120th streets in Harlem. Down the block, One Bar will open on the corner of Lenox Avenue and 120th Street. Pizza and crepe joint Oui, Oui will open on Seventh Avenue between 128th and 129th streets.

Café 81 on 7th Street near First Avenue is still closed despite reports that the owners were slated to return from vacation Oct. 1. Upscale tapas bar Txikito may be replacing Les Desirs Patisserie in Chelsea.

In Brooklyn, P.S. Bookshop is relocating to the corner space at 70 Washington Street in Dumbo from its former location at 68 Jay Street. According to a press release, Clover’s Fine Art Gallery & Café has opened at 338 Atlantic Avenue in Boerum Hill. Brooklyn Junior kids clothing store will open in the former Little House on Clinton space at 150 Clinton Avenue in Clinton Hill. Long shuttered Vermont Market and Pharmacy re-opened Saturday at Henry and Sackett streets in Cobble Hill. Heights Apothecary will open on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn Heights. Henry Public is slated to open this weekend at 329 Henry Street in Brooklyn. The Tea Lounge, which shuttered in Park Slope, will not reopen in Brooklyn Heights. In God We Trust opened its fourth store at 70 Greenpoint Avenue between Franklin and West Streets. Pan-Asian restaurant Purple Yam is slated to open by the end of October at 1314 Cortelyou Road. Union Market will open at 288 Court Street in Park Slope.

In Queens, Testaccio will open at 47-30 Vernon Boulevard in Long Island City.
