Openings and closings: La Lucha opening, Cappuccino on the Bay closing

In Soho, a new prototype of Banana Republic has opened at 522 Broadway near Prince Street.  Gap has opened a holiday-themed “1969” store at 548 Broadway near Spring Street. Victoria’s Secret has opened its remodeled and expanded Soho outpost at 565 Broadway.

In the East Village, Mexican joint La Lucha has opened at 147 Avenue A. Restaurant Michael “Bao” Huynh may open an Asian taco joint on St. Marks Place.
 
On the Lower East Side, Organic Avenue will open another location in the old Rothko location at 116 Suffolk Street. CV lounge has opened in the Hotel on Rivington at 105 Rivington Street. Swedish clothing store Fjällräven has opened at 262 Mott Street. Another secret speakeasy is opening at 149 Mulberry Street.

In Union Square, the owners of Sala will open Rye House at 11 West 17th Street near Fifth Avenue.

Vegan chocolate shop and wine bar Cocoa V will open at 174 Ninth Avenue between 20th and 21st streets. Timothy Oulten has opened his new furniture section on the fourth floor of ABC Carpet and Home at 888 Broadway near 19th Street.

In Midtown, French chocolatier Michel Cluizel will open his first freestanding U.S. shop at the World Diamond Tower at 580 Fifth Avenue near 47th Street.

On the Upper West Side, ‘wichcraft will open a location in the Harmony Atrium on Broadway between 62nd and 63rd streets.

Shane and Shawn’s shoe store, which shuttered its Nolita location, will be reopening as a mobile store on a tour bus.

In Brooklyn, butcher shop the Meat Hook will open at 100 Frost Street. Le P’tit Paris has opened in the former Da Vincenzo space at 256 Prospect Park West. Vinnie’s Pizzeria will open in Greenpoint at Nassau and Kingsland streets. The Minor Arcana bar will open at 706 Washington Avenue between Prospect and St. Marks places in Prospect Heights. A gardening supply store called Brooklyn Farms is coming to the corner of Hicks and Degraw streets in Cobble Hill. In Williamsburg, a neighborhood cocktail lounge called Dram will open at 177 South 4th Street between Roebling and Driggs streets next month. Prime Meats has opened at 465 Court Street in Carroll Gardens and Rum spot Roneria Caracas has opened at 291 Grand Street.

Amid these openings there have been some closings. Mac and Cheese joint Supermac has shuttered on Seventh Avenue between 29th and 30th streets. A green and vegan restaurant called Loving Hut will open in the space. Nevada Smiths bar on Third Avenue near 11th Street may close. Great Jones Café at 54 Great Jones Street has shuttered temporarily due to a fire. The owners hope to open up again early next week. In Brooklyn, Cappuccino on the Bay has shuttered on Avenue Z and East 17th Street in Sheepshead Bay.
