Bloomie to PA on WTC: “Get out of the way”

Larry Silverstein believes his commitment to the World Trade Center redevelopment project can be measured not only by his enthusiasm, but also by his own cash. The developer, who recently proposed several different financing options to the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey for his planned Ground Zero towers, including putting more of his own money on the line, now has the endorsement of one of the city’s most valuable supporters. Mayor Michael Bloomberg applauded the developer’s efforts on his weekly radio show this morning, saying that if the Port Authority doesn’t come back with a rationale plan to move things forward then “it should just get out of the way.”
