Construction worker falls at WTC site, FDNY denied access to vicinity

A construction worker at the World Trade Center site fell 20 feet, sustaining injuries to the head, neck and back. A New York City Fire Department crew dispatched to assist the injured construction worker at was barred from entering the vicinity, according to a spokesperson for the FDNY, after personnel at the WTC site called for emergency backup. But when the FDNY arrived at the scene, officials from the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey allegedly blocked them from the site, instead insisting that the injured worker be transported by EMS workers outside the accident area.
