Tribeca PTA admonishes Corcoran brokers

Tribeca’s P.S. 234 is at the center of a real estate dustup between the PS 234 Parent Teacher Association and two brokers from the Corcoran Group. Sharon Katzoff and Karen Kemp of Corcoran circulated e-mails to the P.S. 234 community offering a solution to the educational institution’s budget cuts. The brokers’ referral program, called GIVE 234, offered 10 percent of the brokers’ fees as a donation to P.S. 234 in return for referrals to parents, relatives or friends. The PTA issued a strong response stating that the program had not been initiated or approved. The PTA also chastised the brokers for inappropriately using the school directory for business purposes.
