Openings and closings: N.Y. Deli opens, Great NY Noodletown closes … and more

On the Upper West Side, an Eater tipster brings word that gelato spot Grom is opening at Columbus Circle.

Housing Works thrift shop will have a new outpost at 730-732 Ninth Avenue on the corner of 50th Street in Midtown.

In the East Village, the EV Grieve blog says that a new deli has opened at 307 East 14th Street near the corner of Second Avenue. The former Café Brama location on the corner of Second Avenue and 10th Street is being transformed into a pizzeria.

A new waffle shop is opening in Greenwich Village at 120 West 3rd Street on the corner of MacDougal Street.

On the Lower East Side, Chloe Sevigny’s brother’s new bar and eatery Kenmare has opened at 98 Kenmare Street near the corner of Mott Street. Longtime resident of 3 Essex Street, M. Schames & Son paints, is planning to relocate to 90 Delancey Street between Ludlow and Orchard streets.

Soho has welcomed a boutique store from French handbag designer Jerome Dreyfuss at 473 Broome Street on the corner of Greene Street.

In Brooklyn, Sheepshead Bites brings word that Adagio Furniture has opened at 2605 Avenue U in Sheepshead Bay. Also nearby, a Value Depot is opening this week at 1805 Avenue U. In Fort Greene, Kif restaurant at 219 Dekalb Avenue is set to reopen this Friday. A pizzeria called Forino is opening in Park Slope on Fifth Avenue between Carroll and Garfield streets.

Gowanus is soon getting a new beer garden called Mission Dolores at 249 Fourth Avenue between Carroll and President streets. Also in Gowanus, a new bar called Lowlands is opening at 543 Third Avenue between 13th and 14th streets.  In Bushwick, Momo Sushi Shack is open at 43 Bogart Street. In Greenpoint, a new Mexican eatery will be coming soon to 52 Nassau Avenue at the corner of Bedford Avenue. Williamsburg is welcoming a new boutique shop Brooklyn Charm at 145 Bedford Avenue.

Amid these openings, there were a few closings.

Toni’s Touch salon at 2364 Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard near the corner of 138th Street in Harlem has shuttered. After a short run, Thai eatery Eastern Alley is closing at 6 Clinton Street on the corner of East Houston Street. In the East Village, the Stuyvesant Town Blockbuster location is shuttering on the corner of First Avenue and 19th Street.

On the Lower East Side, Tiny’s Giant Sandwich Shop has reportedly been closed for the last three weeks at 129 Rivington Street on the corner of Norfolk Street. A new owner is set to take over and reopen the spot in mid-April. The Department of Health has shuttered the Great NY Noodletown at 28 Bowery on the corner of Bayard Street. The Green Apple Café in Fort Greene has closed under mysterious circumstances, the Times’ the Local blog says, at 110 Dekalb Avenue.
