The one-time 84th police precinct building at 72 Poplar Street in Brooklyn Heights is tentatively on the market for $12 million, according to the Brooklyn Eagle, with owner Regal Investments announcing the approximately 26,600-square-foot building’s availability yesterday. The nearly-century old structure has long sat unused, after being sold to Regal in a 2004 public auction for $9.6 million. The Landmarks Preservation Committee has routinely denied Regal’s efforts to build onto the protected property, claiming that the developer’s most recent proposal, a three-story rooftop add-on, was too large.
