Openings and closings: JC Hibachi opens, Senor Swanky’s closes … and more

The Upper East Side will see a new Sur La Table location move in at 1320 Third Avenue on the corner of 76th Street. This will be the second New York City location.

The Grand Hyatt hotel in Midtown has opened Market, a small food stand that utilizes locally-grown ingredients, in its lobby at 109 East 42nd Street between Park and Lexington avenues. A new food court is reportedly moving in On 32nd Street Between Broadway And Fifth Avenue. The STK restaurant line has signed a 20-year lease for space in the Grace Building at 1114 Sixth Avenue on the corner of 43rd Street, according to a press release.

Grand Central Terminal will welcome an eco-friendly beauty and fashion boutique pop-up shop, EcoLux, on April 19, just in time for Earth Day, on April 22. The shop will remain open till April 24.

Queens-based burger shop Bare is opening its first Manhattan location at 535 La Guardia Place between Bleecker and West 3rd streets.

The recently shuttered Mini Thai Cafe on the corner of Avenue A and 7th Street has reopened, dashing rumors that it would combine forces with another restaurant.

A specialty custom belt shop called Badichi has opened in Soho at 59 Prince Street between Crosby and Lafayette streets.

Popular paella eatery Soccarrat is planning to open a new location this summer at 284 Mulberry Street between Houston and Jersey streets.

On the Lower East Side, a new clothing boutique, Convent, has opened at 179 Stanton Street between Clinton and Attorney streets. Restaurateur Michael Huynh told Eater that he’s considering taking over the space at 115 Allen Street on the corner of Delancey Street, where eatery Allen & Delancey recently shuttered. JC Hibachi has opened at 198a Orchard Street on the corner of East Houston. A Subway franchise is opening at 66 Delancey Street on the corner of Allen Street. The Vyne Wine Bar is opening at 82 West 3rd Street between Sullivan and Thompson streets.

In Brooklyn, the Black Swan restaurant and bar is opening soon at 1048 Bedford AvenueBetween Lafayette Avenue and Clifton Place. In Williamsburg, a new bar called the Counting Room has opened at 44 Berry Street on the corner of North 11th Street. A new art gallery, PM Taxes, has opened in Bushwick on the corner of Wilson and Flushing avenues.

Amid these openings, there were a couple of closings.

Senor Swanky’s on the Upper West Side at 513 Columbus Avenue on the corner of 85th Street has closed. Ditmas Park’s eatery Pomme de Terre has closed at 1301 Newkirk Avenue.
