Schechtman named a principal at Eastern

David Schechtman, a senior director with Eastern Consolidated, has been named a principal with the real estate services firm, according to an announcement from the company today. In 2008, The Real Deal named Schechtman, whose transactions with Eastern Consolidated in the last five years have surpassed $1.8 billion, one of the few real estate players who didn’t get crunched in the credit crisis. Peter Hauspurg, chairman and CEO of the company, said that Schechtman’s role as a “specialist in loan sales and bankruptcies” has made him an asset to the company. “We are delighted to welcome David aboard as a principal,” Hauspurg said.
