The Brooklyn Waldorf School in Fort Greene has chosen the Claver Castle, at the St. Peter Claver Roman Catholic Church on Claver Street, as its new location to accommodate its expanded program which will include classes up to grade eight, according to the blog A Child Grows. At the new site, between Franklin and Classon avenues, the school plans to have programs such as gardening, bio-dynamic farming, sports and woodworking, and there will also be space for an organic cafeteria and a parent meeting lounge. The Board of Trustees has hired Rogers Marvel Architects as the lead designer, in addition to a general contractor and historic preservation experts. The school hopes to complete construction by July 31, 2011 and open in September. [A Child Grows]
