350 West Broadway and Aby Rosen
Fashion retailer Nordstrom has signed a lease for 11,137 square feet of retail space at 350 West Broadway, according to property management group RFR Realty. The two-floor store, tucked inside developer Aby Rosen’s building between Grand and Broome streets,
is set to open in about a year.
Although launched by Nordstrom, the store will have little affiliation to the department store brand, according to a spokesperson for the department store.
“We don’t have a lot to share at the moment, but [the new store will be a] unique philanthropic store concept,” the spokesperson said, noting that “all profits” will go to non-profit organizations.
The company is “still working on the merchandising strategy at the moment,” the spokesperson said, adding that customers will see no “tie in to Nordstrom.”
Although the store’s name hasn’t been determined yet, the spokesperson said that the name “Nordstrom” will in no way be incorporated.
The news comes on the heels of the brand’s increasing interest in the Manhattan market, a region it had historically avoided.
The company has reportedly been in talks to lease space in the Moinian Group’s 1775 Broadway and Boston Properties’ 250 West 55th Street. Earlier this year, a Nordstrom Rack location opened in Union Square.
