Bungee, water parks slated for Coney

A Long Island-based company is slated to shell out $360,000 a year to operate an inflatable water park and bungee-jumping facility on the Coney Island boardwalk, according to the New York Post. The New York City Parks Department selected Party Magic USA to run the aquatic attraction and has drafted a contract that would keep the facility there for at least five years. But the plan is hardly a done deal — Party Magic has yet to apply for city permits, according to a spokesperson with the Department of Environmental Conservation. If the permits are filed and approved, city officials say the water and bungee park will be situated across from Steeplechase Pier, a popular site for fishing. [Post]
