NYC retail priciest in the world: report

New York City is the most expensive retail market in the world, with “prime rents” clocking in at $1,800 per square foot, according to commercial firm CB Richard Ellis’ global retail market report, released today. Sydney ranked second worldwide, with rents at $1,218 per square foot, while Hong Kong was third, with $1,113 per square foot rents. Regionally, the Americas (including the U.S. and South America) saw the greatest year-over-year rental increase last quarter, climbing 6 percent.
