Pizza giant buys $4.2M co-op at 930 Fifth

Mario Sbarro, of the Long Island-based pizza empire, has bought a $4.2 million two-bedroom co-op at 930 Fifth Avenue, according to the Observer. The 11th-floor Upper East Side unit belonged to the late Susan Alcalay and sold for its original listing price. Listing agents Burt Savitsky and Jessica Savitsky of Brown Harris Stevens describe the property as a “classic estate” with medieval decor. The 18-story Emery Roth building on 74th Street has been home to actor Woody Allen and AIG founder Cornelius Vander Starr. The company has remained headquartered in Long Island, where Sbarro and his wife, Annunziatina, list their current address. [NYO]
