Museum of the Moving Image reopens following $67M renovation

The new Museum of the Moving Image opened today in Astoria after a three-year renovation, according to a statement from the mayor’s office. Following the $67 million renovation, which nearly doubled the museum in size, the facility is now 97,700 square feet. The museum, located at 3601 35th Avenue on the corner of 37th Street, has a new 267-seat theater, along with a 4,100-square-foot gallery and 10,370-square-foot courtyard. Doors will open to the general public Jan. 15. TRD
