The renderings for a proposed 166-room hotel adjacent to the Grand Prospect Hall at 263 Prospect Avenue have been revealed, according to Curbed, showing a new public parking facility. The already controversial 11-story project is the brainchild of Michael and Alice Halkias, the proprietors of Grand Prospect Hall, who came under fire this week for releasing a threateningly worded flyer in support of the project. At a public meeting last night, Michael unveiled the project design and promised the community access to a planned 400-spot parking garage if the hotel goes through. But some residents, who said they’re concerned the structure would be too large for the neighborhood, worry that the hotel could cause traffic problems in the area. [Curbed]
