Four agents from the Corcoran Group have jumped ship to Town Residential, the latest venture from Citi Habitats founder Andrew Heiberger.

Bill Kowalczuk, a senior vice president at Corcoran, brought his two-person team with him to Town, while Susan Singer, also a senior vice president who works independently, came on her own.

In July 2006, Kowalczuk brokered a deal for a 5,000-square-foot rental loft in the Meatpacking District for $33,000 a month, the highest residential rent ever paid in the neighborhood at that time.

Kowalczuk cited Town’s “fresh new ideas, support staff and upbeat work environment” as reasons for his move.

Singer, the first New York City “eco-broker” certified by the Association of Energy and Environmental Real Estate Professions, said the move “wasn’t a decision [she] made lightly,” but said she “couldn’t pass up the opportunity to join a team of winners.”

Singer, who was named Corcoran’s rookie of the year in 2001, is known for her work with green buildings.

A Corcoran spokesperson did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Heiberger was not available for comment.

Singer and Kowalczuk are not the first agents to leave high-profile brokerages for Heiberger’s start-up. Brown Harris Stevens brokers Wendy Maitland and Reid Price left for Town in December.
