[Updated at 1:36 p.m.]The residents at 97 East 7th Street, a 22-unit rental building between First Avenue and Avenue A, are fighting back against their building’s manager, who they say hasn’t restored their cooking gas after shutting it off Feb. 19, according to the EV Grieve blog. Building manager Anthony Zachariadis of TZM Realty wouldn’t comment on the gas shut-off, but residents at the building say that he and ConEdison have been pointing fingers at one another, blaming each other for the protracted lack of gas. Making matters worse, one resident said that the landlord hasn’t offered a reimbursement for food expenses or rent, and some tenants say they’re considering legal action. Update: Zachariadis told EV Grieve that he’s restored the building’s cooking gas and said that he’s in negotiations with residents regarding monetary compensation. [EV Grieve]
