LI Gatsby house razed

The North Shore, LI home
that F. Scott Fitzgerald fans believe was the inspiration for Daisy Buchanan’s home in “The Great Gatsby,” was torn down this weekend. CBS News took a look at the estate’s storied past in the video above, including talking with owner Bert Brodsky. Historic groups protested the demolition but, Brodsky said he had no choice because the house was condemned and beaten beyond repair. The plan is to erect a five-home community called Seagate at Sands Point in its place.
