A new 14-story, 56-unit rental building in the Financial District is coming to market June 1, according to the New York Post (note: correction appended). The Meltzer Mandl Architects-designed building at 40 Gold Street was developed by Zahov Properties and has a mix of studio and two-bedroom units. Adam Heller, president of the Heller Organization that exclusively markets the building, said that he’s noticed rental activity picking up in the Financial District, as many buildings are nearly full despite possessing many vacancies this time last year. The rentals are geared towards single Wall Street professionals — the developers eschewed one-bedroom apartments in favor of studios starting at $2,400 and split two-bedroom units, where the bedrooms are on opposite sides of the unit to ensure privacy, starting at $4,200.
