Saunders & Associates expands with Southampton office

Bridgehampton-based residential brokerage firm Saunders & Associates is opening a sister office in nearby Southampton.

Andrew Saunders, founder of the two-year-old firm said he has finished renovations on a new 3,300-square-foot office at 14 Main Street in downtown Southampton.

“We renovated it and created a state-of-the-art elegant office for 30 or so brokers,” he said. “Brokers are moving in next week and starting Monday [the new office] will be operational.”

Saunders — a former top broker for Sotheby’s International Realty — formed the brokerage in 2008 with just two agents and has been aggressively pursuing market share ever since. Saunders & Associates’ current offices are at 2287 Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton.

Last week, Saunders said, his firm sold an $8 million, eight-bedroom six-bath
house at 81 Halsey Neck Lane in Southampton and is in contract for the
sale of three creek front lots on Jobs Lane in Southampton for $21
million.

The brokerage made news with the sales of talent agent Sandy Gallin’s 14-acre estate “Serenity” estate in Bridgehampton for $17.5 million last month as well as the sale of the 9,000-square-foot Hampton Designer Showhouse home in Sag Harbor which sold for $4.93 million in January.

At this time last year, Saunders had around 43 brokers. Now he has 58 with 13 more on the way that will populate the new Southampton office.

“We have grown faster and more dramatically as a result of our model which is different from other firms who [only] give their brokers a desk and a phone and varying degrees of marketing support,” Saunders said, “whereas we brand you as a broker. From advertising and marketing to technology and human resources — for us here it is all about the broker and we put all our muscle and financial support behind our brokers.”
