Salon.com changes Garment Center address

260 West 36th StreetSalon Media, the parent company of Salon.com, has signed for 4,000 square feet at 260 West 36th Street, the Observer reported.

The media outlet, which was previously shacked up at 15 West 37th Street, joins Wear Abouts Apparel as new tenants in the the office tower between Seventh and Eighth avenues, bringing the building’s occupancy to 96 percent. The building is 10 stories and has about 81,000 square feet, PropertyShark.com shows. Asking rents in the building were $30 per square foot, the Observer said.

It’s the second noteworthy media move this week, as the Guardian moved into the Onion’s Soho building at 536 Broadway, according to published reports.

Ryan Magner and Catherine O’Toole of Tarter Stats O’Toole represented the owners of 260 West 36th Street, an LLC called 260 West 36 Associates, in both transactions. [NYO]
