Town & Country has acquired local Montauk brokerage Kathleen Beckmann Real Estate for an undisclosed amount, Town & Country announced today. Kathleen Beckmann Real Estate owner Kathleen Beckmann will join Town & County brokerage as of tomorrow, bringing with her three other brokers from her firm.

“Beckmann had a large portion of the market share of Montauk, even with a small amount of people,” Town & Country CEO Judi Desiderio said of her decision to acquire the company. Town & Country has eight Hamptons offices in total, including in North Sea Harbor, Bridgehampton and East Hampton.

“I’ve known Kathleen for the whole time she’s been in the business,” she said. “When it came time, two or three years ago, for us to open in Montauk, I asked her [if she'd like to join us.] She wasn’t ready then, but as the years went by, she thought it would be good to spend more time with the family and important for her and her associates to work with a firm that could put its money behind the listings.”

Beckmann has been involved in Montauk real estate for 17 years, Town & Country said in a release. Her namesake company has been operating out of her personal home on the Northeast corner of Montauk Highway and Essex Street, but will now join Town & Country’s Montauk office at 764 Montauk Highway.

“She’s excited to get back to listing and selling,” said Desiderio, who declined to disclose the acquisition price. Beckmann will be heavily involved in day-to-day deal-making, something that she was missing in running her own company, she added.

Beckmann was not immediately available for comment.
