The $123.9 million sale of a portfolio of self-storage buildings in the Clinton Hill, Bedford Stuyvesant, East New York and Gravesend neighborhoods topped Brownstoner’s list of 2011 commercial property sales in Brooklyn, the blog reported.Real estate investment trust CubeSmart purchased the buildings from Storage Deluxe in October.
Number two was the $57.5 million purchase of 150 Fourth Avenue, a luxury rental building called Arias Park Slope, by Invesco Real Estate, an independent investment management company. The seller was the building’s developer, Iconic Group.
Other notable deals included the purchase of 1702 Avenue Y, a Super Stop & Shop, in Sheepshead Bay for $28.5 million, and the purchase of the Western Carpet Company warehouse in Williamsburg, at 204 Wythe Avenue, by Area Property Partners for $27.5 million. The Super Stop deal is thought to be the largest in Sheepshead Bay’s history. The 204 Wythe parcel is set to become a residential development with 157 units.
Rounding out the top five was the purchase, for $27.3 million, of 44 Berry Street, former quinine factory in Williamsburg that boasts 42 rental units. [Brownstoner]
