Bialystoker Nursing Home one step closer to historic protection after community board vote
The landmarks subcommittee of Manhattan Community Board 3 voted 6-1 in favor of a resolution that backs the historic protection of the Bialystoker Nursing Home, on East Broadway between Clinton and Pitt streets, the Lo-Down reported.
The vote will head to CB3’s park’s committee, before the full community board votes on the measure in late April. As previously reported, commercial brokerage Grubb & Ellis was listing the property over the summer, referring to it as a “highly desirable development site.”
Lo-Down said representatives of the nursing home board handed out press releases last night. “The Bialystoker Board is now in the process of entering into a contract of sale [of the building] to the highest bidder,” it read. “The sale has been approved by the attorney general.”
