Studios start at $3,000 per month and 12 units have already been rented out. Some of the units have balconies and all have kitchenettes and new bathrooms. Total square footage was not listed. Residents get three meals a day, housekeeping, a gym, a beauty parlor, a doctor’s office and other amenities.

As previously reported, the hotelier behind the Staten Island Hotel, SI Hotel Holding, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy to prevent the foreclosure sale of the 187-room hotel. It was one of several SI Hotel Holding properties that were in foreclosure. NY1 said the hotel was set to become a Crowne Plaza, but the deal fell through. [NY1]
