DSW, Blink Fitness and Joe’s Crab Shack ink West Harlem leases

A four-story, 100,000-square-foot West Harlem retail development that’s slated for completion by the end of 2012 has landed three new retailers, Crain’s reported. Discount shoe store DSW, Blink Fitness and Joe’s Crab Shack have all signed on to move in to 301-303 West 125th Street at Frederick Douglass Boulevard by mid-2013.

DSW was represented by Brian Katz of Katz & Associates and agreed to a 10-year lease of 32,000 square feet: 2,000 square feet of the first floor lobby, 10,000 square feet on the second floor and 20,000 square feet across the entire third floor. The asking ground floor rent was $150 per square foot. Blink inked a 15-year lease for 16,000 square feet of the basement space, as well as a portion of the lobby. Blink was represented by Peter Levine of Charter Realty and Development Corporation. Joe’s Crab Shack was represented by Tom Rettaliata of Ripco Real Estate and agreed to a 10-year agreement for 1,000 square feet on the ground level and 10,000 square feet on the second floor.

Aurora Capital, A&H Acquisitions and Sigfield Group are developing the property.

As previously reported, a scaffolding outside of this building fell onto a city bus and injured a total of 18 people, which prompted the Department of Buildings to issue seven violations for equipment that should not have been on the site and improper demolition.
