Corcoran Group founder and ‘Shark Tank’ judge Barbara Corcoran has put her Dutchess County home on the market, she recently announced on the “Today” show (see video above). The four-bedroom, three-bathroom, 2,565-square-foot home sits on 1.4 acres at 477 Old Quaker Hill Road in Pawling, N.Y. and is asking $545,000. Gillian Stewart Real Estate President Gillian Stewart first put the listing on the market last week.
On an episode of the “Today” show last weekend, Corcoran said she lived in the home, located about an hour and a half from Manhattan, for 35 years. The real estate mogul, who sold her firm for $66 million in 2001, said she got the house inspected and made a whole host of repairs before putting it on the market.
“Let me tell you something,” she said. “For every dollar I spent improving the house, if I hadn’t done it, [a buyer] would have wanted $3 off the price.”
Corcoran said she believes the house is worth about $600,000, but put it on the market for $545,000 in an effort to increase interest, find attached buyers and incite a bidding war. [MSNBC via Curbed]
